Ashok Gasti, MP Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, passed away on September 17, 2020. Om Birla, Lok Sabha Speaker conveyed his condolences to Gasti’s family. He said, “Saddened to hear about the untimely demise of Ashok Gasti. My condolences to the bereaved family.”
He was admitted on September 2 at the Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru after he tested positive for COVID-19. His acquaintances reported that he had difficulty in breathing during the past few days and relied on ventilator support. He also suffered from other health issues.
