Rajasthan govt employees appointed on or after January 1, 2004 to be entitled for pension scheme

CM Ashok Gehlot has stated that government personnel hired after January 1, 2004, will be eligible for pension programs.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today delivered the state budget for 2022-23, announcing that all Rajasthan Government employees hired on or after January 1, 2004, will be eligible for the previous (older version of the program) pension system beginning next year.

It was Gehlot’s fourth budget as chief minister during his third term. The finance portfolio is held by Gehlot.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also confirmed the launch of the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme, which would provide jobs in cities. Urban regions will receive 100 days of employment beginning next year, similar to MGNREGA. The total cost would be Rs 800 crore.

As a result, it has been stated that the MGNREGA work period would be extended from 100 to 125 days. The state government would bear the whole cost of Rs 700 crore. The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act of 2005 (NREGA 42, subsequently renamed the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, MGNREGA) is Indian labour legislation and social security program targeted at the ‘right to work.’ It intends to give at least 100 days of employment in a fiscal year to improve rural job stability.

Gehlot also announced the establishment of 18 new nursing institutions. He further stated that Rs 100 crore will be allocated for the enhancement of hospital amenities. The Rajasthan Micro Irrigation Mission, which would assist 4 lakh farmers, will be launched at a cost of Rs 2000 crores.
