Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot meets State Party Chief to discuss Bharat Jodo Yatra

The march is planned to begin on 2nd October on Gandhi Jayanti, from the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial in Sriperumbudur, the place where former Prime Minister and Rahul Gandhi’s father Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated and is said to be completed sometime in mid-December in Kashmir.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reaches the Clarks Hotel in Amer to discuss Congress Party’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” with Pradesh Congress Chief (PCC) Govind Singh Dotasra.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra is Congress’ first pan-India march which will have logos and slogans. This march is undergoing the finalization process.

The march is planned to begin on 2nd October on Gandhi Jayanti, from the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial in Sriperumbudur, the place where former Prime Minister and Rahul Gandhi’s father Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated and is said to be completed sometime in mid-December in Kashmir.

This is will be Congress’ largest non-electoral campaign since India’s independence. The central planning group for the coordination of the march, the Congress party’s biggest non-electoral campaign, will have Digvijaya Singh, Sachin Pilot, Shashi Tharoor, Ravneet Singh Bittu, KJ George, Jothi Mani, Pradyut Bordoloi, Jitu Patwari, and Saleem Ahmed as its members.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that this march has taken inspiration from the Quit India Movement launched by Congress under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi 80 years ago on 1942 and the British left within 5 years.

This is a foot march covering 12 states and two Union Territories, Ramesh said, adding it will be about 3,500 km long and will be completed in about 150 days.
