Rahul’s BJY sees Kolhapuri participation in full traditional colours


On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra saw the participation of 7,000 party workers in ‘Kolhapuri Fete’ taking part in wrestling activities.

The yatra entered Hingoli last evening from Nanded. It resume this morning at 6 am from the Lakshmi Filling Station, near Prithviraj Hotel in Shevala Village of Kalamnuri taluka on the sixth day of its Maharashtra leg.

According to party sources Rahul Gandhi will reach near Matoshri Hotel in Arati village around 10 am and take a halt.

During today’s padyatra 7,000 Congress workers from Kolhapur led by former Minister Satej (Bunty) Patil participated in the padayatra by tying Kolhapuri Fete (Turban) and performed sports including wrestling.

The foot march will restart from Pardi Mod bus stand in Kalamnuri at 4 pm and will reach the Zilla Parishad High school at 7 pm and make night halt at Late Shankarrao Satav Arts and Commerce College Ground in Kalamnuri, they added.
