Dr. Ajay Tawade, who arrested on the grounds of allegedly swapping blood samples of 17- year- old boy involved in car accident, has been granted bail by Pune District Court. He is the head of Forensic Medicine Department. Along with him, Dr. Srihari Halnor and ward boy Atul Ghatakmalbe are also granted bail till June 5th.

It has been reported that Dr. Tawade had swapped the blood samples of the 17-year-old juvenile, in return for bribe from the teenager’s boy. The ward boy had played the middleperson as he had received the bribe from the parent, on behalf of the doctor.

On May 19, the teenager was allegedly drunk and drove his Porsche car at an estimated speed of 150 km/hr. The car crashed into a motorcycle, resulting in instant death of two IT professionals.

In another update, the dean of the hospital, Vinayak Kale, has made some fresh allegations against Dr. Tawade appointment for the post of HOD of Forensic Medicine Department.
