One of the perpetrators named in the FIR registered in relation with the violence at Red Fort on January 26, Deep Sidhu was arrested today morning after a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh had been announced for any information regarding Deep’s whereabouts.

Deep Sidhu and the gangster Lakka Sadana were the two primary perpetrators named in the FIR. Deep had been accused of causing chaos and clashes when a tractor rally by farmers protesting the centre’s three agricultural laws went violent on January 26, with protesters breaking a previous agreement on pre-decided routes and schedules and forcing their way into the Red Fort.

Confirming this, the Delhi Police Special Cell today told the media that, “Deep Sidhu, an accused in 26th January violence case has been arrested.

Praveer Ranjan, Special Commissioner of Police (CP), Crime Department, said, “On January 26 some people hoisted the flag at Red Fort. Some of them have been identified out of which Deep Sidhu is the prime accused.”

Deep Sidhu, had been posting on Facebook presenting his defence after he had been named in the FIR without even having an escape plan as teams of the Delhi police’s crime branch hunted for him. The videos were uploaded by his friend abroad, police sources said.
