President Joe Biden likely to discuss various methods to confront terrorism with PM Narendra Modi: Foreign Secretary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the first in-person Quad leaders summit in Washington on September 24.

United States is hosting this in person Quad Summit of the leaders to improve the practical cooperation in the Indo Pacific region. President Joe Biden is likely to discuss with Prime Minister Narendra Modi various methods to fight terrorism and regional development. They also discuss various ways to strengthen multifarious investment in trade ties and defence between the two countries.

President Joe Biden will host Quad- India, US, Australia, and Japan – leaders summit in Washington in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate. President Joe Biden and PM Modi are likely to discuss the developments in Afghanistan and ways to combat global terror networks stem radicalisation.

External affair Minister S Jaishankar  National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Singla and others will be the delegates of the prime minister. In the Summit leaders will share views on global issues such as emerging technologies, infrastructure, disaster relief, climate change crisis, connectivity, humanitarian assistance. On September 25 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address the General Debate of the High-level segment of 76 sessions of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. Prime Minister Modi will meet several top executives of major American companies.

The Indo-pacific security partnership which is trilateral was launched a week ago. “This is for Australia and it is based on a unique set of circumstances involving the Australian case” restated by the senior administration official, AUKUS, the deal was unique” the official added.
