In a twitter post, Kaur, who was brought to the hospital on Wednesday, wrote an emotional letter about her illness and mentioned that she had detected a small growth something she knew was “bad.”

She said that the Congress leader was innovative in the matter,  “He is in the prison for a crime he has not committed.Forgive all those involved.Waiting for you each day outside probably suffering more than you. As usual trying to take your pain away, asked for sharing it. Happened to see a small growth, knew it was bad.”

Additionally, she said that he was denied justice “again and again”and revealed that on Wednesday, she would be undergoing cancer surgery.“Waited for You, seeing you were denied justice again and again.Truth is so powerful but it takes your tests time and again. KALYUG.Sorry can’t wait for you because it’s stage 2 invasive cancer. Going under the knife today. No one is to be blamed because it’s GODS plan:PERFECT,” in the post, she stated.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former chief of the Punjab Congress, was not released from prison on January 26 since his name was not on the list of cases granting special remission to convicts held in Punjab jails during the second phase of the commemorations for the nation’s 75th Independence Day, known as “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.”

Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the husband of Sidhu, has slammed the Punjab government, stating that while gangsters and other hardcore criminals can benefit from government policy relief, her husband is not given access to such measures.

“Gangsters, drug lords, hardcore criminals, rapists can get bail and have access to relief by govt policies but a truthful, honest person suffering for a crime he has not committed is devoid of justice and relief given by the centre. GOD please bless those who have forgotten YOU,” she posted on Twitter.

AAP-led government’s decision to keep Sidhu imprisoned in Patiala was criticised by a number of Punjab Congress politicians, including former Punjab Congress leader Shamsher Singh Dullo.

Sidhu was jailed on May 20 of last year after surrendering himself in to a Patiala court following the Supreme Court’s decision to sentence him to one year of solitary confinement. Any leniency in imposing an rigorous imprisonment, according to the top court, would further harm the justice system and undermine public confidence in the efficacy of the law.

After finding Sidhu guilty of “voluntarily causing hurt” to the man in May 2018, the SC spared him jail time and instead fined him Rs 1,000.
