“Violence in Bengal after poll results make us worried”: BJP Chief Nadda

Soon after the results of the Bengal assembly elections got declared, there broke out violence across the various parts of the state. BJP Chief JP Nadda is on his two-day visit to Bengal intending to meet the affected party workers & the families.

BJP National President JP Nadda, on his two-day visit to Kolkata, starting from today, tells that he is awestruck and worried about whatever happened in Bengal after the results.

“The incidents which we saw after the results of West Bengal polls shock us and make us worried. I had heard of such incidents during India’s partition. We had never seen such intolerance after the results of a poll, in independent India”, says BJP Chief.

He further adds, “We’re committed to fighting this ideological battle & the activities of the TMC which is full of intolerance. We’re ready to fight democratically. I will go to South 24 Parganas now and visit the houses of those workers later whose lives ended a few hours after the results”, as quoted by ANI.

 

On his two-day visit to Kolkata, Nadda will be meeting the BJP workers and their families who are affected by the violence that broke out after the polls.

“BJP National president Shri JP Nadda will be visiting West Bengal on 4-5 May, in view of the widespread post results, retributive violence unleashed on BJP workers and supporters by criminal elements in the TMC cadre. He will be visiting families of the affected karyakartas”, says the BJP in a tweet.

In addition to this, the saffron party has also announced a nationwide dharna on the 5th of May protesting against the barbarity that took place on the counting day.

“The BJP has announced a nationwide dharna on 5th May against the widespread violence unleashed by TMC workers post the election results in West Bengal. This protest will be held following all Covid protocols across all organizational mandals of the BJP”, tweets the saffron party.

 

Well, soon after the results of Bengal polls declared on the 2nd of May with the TMC emerging to return to its power, there outbroke violence across various parts of the state. It put several people to death & grave injuries. Though, the exact number of the people affected remains unclear.

The BJP claims that nine of its workers were killed while the TMC says 3 of its party workers died during the violence.
