‘UCC, backward class CM, no Muslim reservation,’ promises BJP in Sankalp Patra for Telangana

“KCR’s is an anti-Backward Class Party; it never fulfilled its promise of making a Chief Minister from the Backward Class,” said Amit Shah.

On Saturday, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah launched the Sanklap Patra (Resolution Letter), i.e., party’s manifesto for the upcoming state assembly elections in Telangana. In the manifesto, the BJP has promised to bring Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Telangana if voted to power. Other than this, the party has also promised to end the reservation for Muslims the state, citing that minority reservation is unconstitutional.

“Once the Bharatiya Janata Party forms government in Telangana, it will, within 6 months, bring the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the State,” said Union Minister Amit Shah.

Opposing reservation for minorities in the state, Shah said: “The reservation based on religion is unconstitutional. We will do away with the 4% reservation accorded to the Muslims, and will instead increase the reservation quota for the Backward Class, SCs and STs.”

Further, Amit Shah also promised that the BJP will make a Backward Class Chief Minister in the state if voted to power. He said that the Bharatiya Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) is an anti-backward class party.

“KCR’s is an anti-Backward Class Party; it never fulfilled its promise of making a Chief Minister from the Backward Class,” said Amit Shah.

“To ensure social justice to the Backward Classe, and to give wings to their aspirations, we have decided to make the next Chief Minister of Telangana belonging to the Backward Class only. The Bharatiya Janata Party promises for a BC CM,” added Amit Shah.

Amit Shah further promised that the farmers will be given free insurances under the BJP Government under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. He also promised that the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana will be given 4 gas cylinders per year, free of cost.

Amit Shah also promised that the Hyderabad Liberation Day will be celebrated every year on 17th September and Razakar Vibhishika Smriti Divas on 27th August, to honour the people of Telangana who fought bravely against the Razakars.

“The ‘Ghoshna Patra’ of Telangana is in a way the GUARANTEE of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. It has been the track record of the BJP to fulfil the promises it gives in its Ghoshana Patras; we have been fulfilling our promises right from the beginning, even from the Jana Sangh times,” said Shah.

Well, the elections in Telangana are scheduled to take place on Novemebr 30, in a single phase, followed by the counting of votes aand declaration of results on December 3.
