On Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party cancelled the suspension of Telangana MLA T Raja Singh. In August last year, BJP had suspended him from the party for his alleged remarks against the Prophet in a video posted on social media. T Raja is returning to Telangana politics at a time when assembly elections are going to be held in the state next month. This time, BJP is competing with both BRS and Congress.

In a letter to MLA T Raja Singh issued by the BJP on Sunday (22 October) said, “Upon suspension, the Central Disciplinary Committee of the party had issued a show cause notice to you. This refers to your reply to the show cause notice. Your reply and explanation offered therein has been considered by the committee. Basis your reply, the committee has decided to revoke your suspension forthwith.”

On cancelling of suspension from the party, T Raja Singh wrote on X, On canceling my suspension, first of all, my heartfelt gratitude to Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, National President of BJP @JPNadda ji, Home Minister @AmitShah ji, Organization Secretary Shri @blsanthosh ji, State President of Telangana BJP Shri @kishanreddybjp, OBC Morcha National President Shri @drlaxmanbjp ji, former state president Shri @bandisanjay_bjp ji and Shri @PMuralidharRao ji. My gratitude to the entire BJP family and the people of Goshamahal. Jai BJP, Vijay BJP!!”

T Raja Singh to contest from Goshamahal

On Sunday, the BJP also released the first list of 55 candidates for the Telangana assembly elections and shortly after revoking the suspension of lone MLA T Raja Singh. BJP has given tickets to 12 women including three MPs in the first list. Besides, Raja Singh has been fielded in the election by making him a candidate from his traditional seat, Goshamahal.

After getting the ticket from Goshamahal, T Raja Singh wrote on X, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to the BJP Leadership for nominating me as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate in the #Goshamahal Constituency for the upcoming 2023 legislative assembly election. #GoshamahalWithBJP”

Why T Raja Singh was suspended?

 

T Raja Singh, who is in the news for his statements, is known as a strong Hindu leader. T Raja Singh had released a video against comedian Munawar Faruqui. In this video, he had commented against comedian Munawar Faruqui and his mother. In the same video, he had allegedly made derogatory remarks on the Prophet. After this he was arrested. The party later suspended him from the primary membership. T Raja Singh had joined politics from Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Later, he joined BJP before the 2014 Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. After this, he got re-elected in 2018 from Goshamahal seat.
