On Monday, Medak MP and BRS candidate from Dubbaka for the upcoming elections, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, was stabbed in the stomach near abdomen by a parson named C Raju in Surampalli village. Prabhakar Reddy has been taken to Gajwel Hospital, from where he was transferred to another hospital in Secunderabad.

Meanwhile, the attacker was beaten up by the BRS supporters  and handed over to the police. Kotha Prabhakar Reddy won from Medak constituency as on Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now BRS) ticket in 2014, and then again in 2019.

KTR blames Congress

KT Rama Rao (KTR), a minister in the Telangana government and son of Chief Minister KCR, attacked the Congress, condemning the attack on the party candidate. He said: “I strongly condemn the murder attempt on BRS MP Sri Prabhakar Reddy Garu by Congress Goons. Desperate Congress now resorting to physical elimination attempts of our leaders in Telangana. This was of course to be expected with a 3rd rate criminal being made the TPCC president Violence has no place in democratic society and I hope the Election Commission of India will take serious action in this regard.”

TPCC chief Revanth Reddy replies

Responding to KTR, Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy replied by saying that blaming Congress is ‘drama’. He also condemned the attack.

“If an MP is attacked, BRS’s defeat is certain if you look at your dirty attempt to use it for petty political purposes. The society of Telangana is watching the way you and your father are creating this latest Mondi Katthi drama. People understand your sly ethics of pinning the tragedy on the Congress,” said Revanth Reddy.

“In any case, we condemn the attack. Defeating a dwarf like your father is not a big deal for the Congress which won the independence of the country using non-violence as its weapon,” added Reddy.

Amid this, Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao visited Medak MP and Dubbaka BRS MLA candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy in the hospital and also met his family members. The CM also ordered the doctors to provide better treatment.
