The Election Commission on Tuesday cancelled the suspension of former Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar. In fact, on the day of election results, amidst the counting of votes, the DGP met the now Chief Minister and then Congress leader Revanth Reddy. During this, he also presented a bouquet to Reddy. After this, he was suspended on December 3 for violating the code of conduct.

The picture and video of DGP Anjani Kumar giving a bouquet to Revanth Reddy had gone viral on social media. Only after this, the Election Commission took action and suspended him. When the DGP met Revanth Reddy, state police nodal officer Sanjay Jain was also with him. The Election Commission had sent a letter to the Chief Secretary and recommended the suspension of Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar.

Reddy led Congress to victory! 

Congress’ star campaigner Revanth Reddy was in direct competition with then Telangana Chief Minister and BRS supremo K. Chandrashekhar Rao. Reddy had defeated BRS badly, giving a landslide victory to Congress.

Achieved majority by winning 64 seats 

Let us tell you that Congress had won 64 out of 119 seats in the Telangana Assembly elections. On the other hand, BRS had won 39 seats. Whereas, BJP had won 9 seats. Along with this, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) also won 7 seats. The Communist Party of India also opened its account and won 1 seat.
