On Thursday, the government of India announced a seven-day mourning in honor of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The two times PM took his last breath at AIIMS Delhi.
The renowned economist’s last rites will be conducted with full state honors, as per the reports by PTI.
The government sources have also claimed that all central programmed scheduled for Friday have been cancelled and the union cabinet will meet to mourn Singh’s demise.
Meanwhile, a seven day mourning has been announced in Karnataka to honor the former prime minister. A government holiday has been declared on December 27.
Similarly, Telangana government has declared holiday on Friday for government offices and educational institutions. The state government has declared a mourning period of seven days.
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has also cancelled all her government programmes.
