After a much escalated political turmoil in Rajasthan, the High Court pronounced the status quo to be maintained with regards to Sachin Pilot and 18 other MLAs. The court, with this notice, has restricted the party speaker, CP Joshni, to act upon the disqualification notices issued against the party members on July 14.
After the disqualification notice being served to Pilot and the 18 other MLAs on the charge of attempting to tumble the ruling government in Rajasthan, these party workers were disqualified from the party. Sachin Pilot was also immediately removed from the position of Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
This disqualification was challenged by the Pilot by filing a petition in the Rajasthan High Court against this order by the party speaker. The notice was challenged on the grounds that it was issued by the Congress’ party whip and such whip is only allowed when the party is in session.
Filing an application on the grounds of the 10th schedule of the Indian Constitution, Pilot seeked in the involvement of centre in this case.
As per a recent update by Times Now, the party members, supporting Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, have gathered at the Raj Bhawan. These members have organized a protest outside the Raj Bhawan and have been chanting slogans. This update comes while Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is in a meeting with governor Kalraj Mishra to deliberate over the current status of the situation.

Sachin Pilot and his 18 other ally MLAs of the Congress in Rajasthan have been showing dissent in the party since last few weeks. As an open sign of dissent, the former Deputy Chief Minister and his allies failed to turn up at the Congress Legislative Party Meeting held at Jaipur.
