Madhya Pradesh is to witness polling on November 17, ahead of which Congress is gearing up and addressing multiple rallies in the state on the same day. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge addressed a rally in Sweda, Madhya Pradesh. Mallikarjun recalled older party leaders: “Before independence, the British had given the right to vote to a few people. The farmers, women, poor and Dalits of the country did not have the right to vote. But Pandit Nehru, Babasaheb Ambedkar ji and Congress Party made the Constitution and gave everyone the right to vote with equal rights,” and asked people of Sweda to make Congress win.
Answering PM’s question over work of Congress, Kharge reverts, “PM Modi asks what did Congress do in 70 years? If the Congress Party had not made the Constitution, neither Modi would have become the Prime Minister nor Amit Shah would have become the Home Minister. But today these people are bent on destroying the Constitution of the country.”
Bashing out the BJP government, the Congress chief said: “Till date Modi ji has only spoken his mind. Never spoke to people’s hearts. When he has to ask for votes, he says – I am the son of the poor. But the real poverty is in Madhya Pradesh, where women are not able to even give nutritious food to their children. Here, first the BJP people urinate on the tribal, then wash his feet, but nothing is going to happen from this.”
Further, he said “The Prime Minister had told the public — Rs 15 lakh will come into the account, will provide 2 crore jobs every year, will double the income of farmers. Did farmers’ income doubled – it didn’t. The Prime Minister is the ‘lord of lies’. ”

Kharge pointed out demerits of Agniveer Scheme by saying: “PM Modi brought Agniveer scheme. The youth will join the army only for 4 years. But he will neither get pension, nor promotion, nor will the job be permanent. No one will benefit from this scheme.”
He also lashed BJP over unemployment issue and said, “There are 30 lakh government jobs vacant in the country. But they recruit for a few posts and show off by giving appointment letters to people close to BJP-RSS by making them stand on the stage.”
2023 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held on 17 November 2023 to elect all 230 members of the state’s Legislative Assembly.
