The stand-off between the government and the opposition continues over the security lapse in the Lok Sabha. The MPs who were suspended from the Lok Sabha for the entire session on Thursday demonstrated at the main gate of the new Parliament building. Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi met the suspended MPs sitting at the main gate.
After this, along with the suspended MPs, all the MPs from the opposition parties went to protest near the Gandhi statue located in the Parliament House complex, waving placards.

Due to uproar by opposition MPs, Lok Sabha proceedings could not continue even on Friday. As soon as the Lok Sabha proceedings began at 11 am on Friday, opposition MPs came to the Well waving placards and shouting slogans. Seeing the situation in the House, Presiding Chairman Rajendra Aggarwal adjourned the proceedings of the Lok Sabha till 2 o’clock within a few seconds.
Opposition MPs were raising slogans in the House, demanding Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement regarding the lapse in security of the Lok Sabha. The opposition MPs were also demanding action against BJP MP Pratap Simha, who got the Lok Sabha audience gallery passes made for the accused who breached the security of the Lok Sabha.
The opposition is adamant on demanding the statement of Home Minister Amit Shah in the matter of security lapses in the Lok Sabha, while the government is citing many such incidents in the past and saying that the custodian of the House is the Speaker and in the past also In such incidents it is the Speaker who takes decisions.
Responding to the allegations being made by the opposition on the government of suppressing their voice, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the allegation of suppressing their voice is wrong, they are just trying to raise their voice. An important bill is listed for discussion, the government is ready for discussion, the opposition should come and discuss the bill in the House.
