Pramila Pandey, Mayor of Kanpur city, has lodged a complaint with the Swarup Nagar police accusing Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray of using derogatory language for UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Police have registered the complaint as a non-cognizable report (NCR).
The complaint refers to a comment made by Thackeray in 2008, which has apparently went viral after the arrest of Union Minister, Narayan Rane, for his ‘slap’ jibe at Maharashtra CM. As reported by TOI, Thackeray in the old video clip can be heard saying that he would hit Yogi with slipper. The video clip has been submitted along with the complaint lodged at Kanpur police.
Talking to the media about the complaint that she had filed with the Swaroop Nagar police in Kanpur, Mayor Pandey said if Thackeray came to Uttar Pradesh, she would let him know how someone is hit with a slipper. Pandey said that “Uddhav Thackeray had also made a derogatory comment about our CM Yogi Adityanath and due to this I have lodged a police complaint against him,” “Next time when he comes to Uttar Pradesh, I will tell him how slippers are used to hit someone. I will not beat him with slippers, as my party does not approve of such acts of indiscipline.”
