On Monday, April 5, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh submits his resignation to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Anil Deshmukh had himself submitted his letter of resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Anil Deshmukh was the Home Minister from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) quota. Deshmukh will submit his resignation to the Chief Minister instead of the Governor.

NCP leader Nawab Malik has reacted to this and said, “Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has met the Chief Minister to tender his resignation. The CM is yet to accept his resignation.”
Malik further added, “After the high court order, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh met Pawar Ji and party leaders and said he doesn’t want to remain in the post. He went to tender his resignation to the CM. Party has requested to the CM to accept his resignation,” as quoted by ANI.

Earlier today, Bombay HC asked CBI to start a preliminary inquiry within 15 days into corruption allegations of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, while reviewing the petition of Dr Jaishri Patil.
While hearing on Dr. Jaishri Patil’s plea regarding allegations of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, Bombay High Court said that Anil Deshmukh is the Home Minister and no impartial probe can be done by the police.
