Let us tell you that the Buxar Lok Sabha seat is considered Brahmin dominated. Out of the last 6 elections, Brahmin candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party have won from this seat. At present Ashwini Choubey of BJP is the MP from here, and he is a minister in the central government also.
Before this, Lal Muni Choubey of the same party has represented Buxar four times consecutively. After him, Jagdanand Singh of Rashtriya Janata Dal represented this seat for one term.
Many officers have already taken safe retirement to contest elections from Buxar Lok Sabha seat. These include the names of UP Singh, former Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, and Gupteshwar Pandey, former DGP of Bihar.
In these, UP Singh had to face defeat from BJP’s Lal Muni Choubey while contesting the elections on RJD ticket. Gupteshwar Pandey could not get the party ticket. However, he denies that he intended to take retirement and contest the elections. At present, he is doing satsang and storytelling.
