Moreover, Rahul Gandhi also raised the issue of caste census and assured that Congress government will conduct caste-based census in the ruling states. “I had raised the issue of caste census in Parliament and we will get it done. We will put such pressure on BJP that they will have to conduct caste census. If they will not conduct caste census then step aside, we will do it,” he said.
“Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Rajasthan governments have started work on caste based enumeration. As soon as our government comes to power in Madhya Pradesh, we will conduct caste based census here also,” he added.
Rahul Gandhi further alleged that the BJP government is insulting people from tribal community. He said: “When Modi government spends Rs 100, OBC category officers take a decision of Rs 5. In such a situation, how much money would the tribal officers be deciding? The answer will surprise you. Tribal officers decide only 10 paise out of 100 rupees. There cannot be a bigger insult to the tribal community than this.”
