Devendra Fadnavis demands CBI probe for alleged ‘transfer racket’ in Maharashtra

Devendra Fadnavis demands for CBI inquiry in alleged transfer racket of high level officers in Maharashtra.

On Tuesday , March 23, Maharashtra LoP Devendra Fadnavis at a press conference, released the report of state intelligence which allegedly shows money transfer happened in posting of high level police officers of the state.

While addressing press conference, the leader of opposition said that he will be going to Delhi to meet Home Secretary and hand him over 6.3 GB of data of call recordings & some documents pertaining to alleged transfer posting racket of IPS and non-IPS officers of Maharashtra Police.

Fadnavis stated that, “Commissioner of Intelligence sent a report of intercepted calls suspicious to be involved in transfer racket to DG Maharashtra in August 2020. It was forwarded to CM later & he expressed concern but no action was taken. I have data of 6.3 GB containing all info.”  He further added, “When DG inquired about the report, he got to know that it was sent to Home Minister. I am going to Delhi today to meet Union Home Secretary & demand CBI to investigation into this matter”.

 

Former Maharashtra CM also stated that Sharad Pawar was misinformed about the issue. As quoted by ANI, Fadnavis said, “As per police records of VIP movement, Anil Deshmukh went to Sahyadri Guest House on February 17 & Mantralaya on February 24. He was in home quarantine from February 15 to 27 but met officers, wasn’t in isolation. I feel Pawar Sahab wasn’t briefed properly yesterday.”
