CPI(M) to skip Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony, Here’s why

CPI(M) leader Vrinda Karat said that our party will not participate in the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya. This is our basic understanding behind this decision. We respect religious beliefs but they (BJP) are linking a religious program with politics. Earlier, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal had said something interesting about going to Ayodhya.

Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav will be organized at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya on 22 January next year. Many VIPs including Prime Minister Narendra Modi are going to come to Ayodhya on January 22 for this event.

At the same time, there is doubt over the participation of leaders of opposition parties in this program. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat gave a big statement. He said that the CPI (M) party is going to distance itself from this function.

Power should not have any religious colour: Brinda Karat

The CPI(M) leader further said, “It is not right to make religion a political weapon. The power in India should not be of any religious colour.”

She said, “Our party will not participate in the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Our basic understanding is behind this decision. We respect religious beliefs, but they (BJP) are trying to mix a religious program with politics. Adding. It is not right to politicize a religious program.”

In a social media post on X, CPI(M) wrote: “CPI(M) believes that religion is a personal choice not to be converted into an instrument for political gain. Therefore, we will not be attending the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.”

Kapil Sibal on attending Pran Pratistha?

Earlier on Monday, Rajya Sabha Speaker and senior lawyer Kapil Sibal was asked whether he would go to Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla. So while answering this question, he said, “This whole issue is a sham. They (BJP) talk about Ram but their behaviour, their character is nowhere close to Lord Ram.”

He further said, “I have Ram in my heart, I don’t do any work for show. If Ram has brought me here to this extent, then I must be doing something right.”
