Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pays last respect to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

Former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 91 at AIIMS Delhi on Thursday. Several political leaders are currently visiting Singh’s residence in New Delhi to pay their last respects.

Now, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi has reached Singh’s residence to pay his last respects. News agency ANI has shared pictures showing Gandhi paying respects with folded hands to the mortal remains of former PM, who has been draped in national flag.

Gandhi was accompanied by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress president and his mother, Sonia Gandhi.

Singh was earlier, on Thursday, admitted to hospital as his health deteriorated due to age – related issues. It was then confirmed by AIIMS that we have lost the former PM.

The man, who is often described as the architect of Indian reforms, also served as Finance Minister in 1991, under the then Prime Minister P. V. Narsimha Rao.
