The Union Home Minister Amit Shah lashed out congress goverment in poll-bound Chhattisgarh for being the “most-corrupt” party, building up “corruption chain” like a food chain. Shah said: “If BJP comes to power in Chhattisgarh, we will recover every penny from the corrupt, and they will be hanged upside down.” He made these attacks while addressing a rally in poll bound Rajnandgaon city, Chhattisgarh.

Polling for 90 seats in Chhattisgarh is scheduled to be held on November 7 and 17. The BJP government has fielded Ishwar Sahu, the father of Bhuneshwar Sahu who was killed in the Biranpur riot. Taking into the consideration the murder of Bhuneshwar Sahu, Shah said: “Bhuneshwar Sahu was murdered due to the appeasement politics of Congress. BJP will take strict action against the perpetrators of communal riots and get justice for Bhuneshwar Sahu.”

Shah attacked the current government( Bhupesh Baghel) for communal violence in the state and said:”Do you want Chhattisgarh to become the centre of communal riots once again? Should Bhuneshwar Sahu get justice or not? If Congress comes to power again, it will continue the politics of appeasement and vote bank.”

The Minister speaks of the various scams:The liquor scam involving Rs 2,000 crore, a coal scam involving Rs 540 crore, a PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana scam involving Rs 5,000 crore, a Gauthan Yojana scam involving Rs 1,300 crore, a PDS fraud involving Rs 600 crore, a Mahadev app fraud involving Rs 5,000 crore and even a PSC scam where jobs are being taken away for commission etc., accused CM Baghel of turning the state into the ‘ATM’ of Delhi darbar.”

The Union Home Minister also accused the Congress government of immersing the state in corruption. He said: “Congress rule has immersed Chhattisgarh in corruption. There is a need for a development government under the leadership of Modi ji and today this crowd gathered in ‘Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha’ in Rajnandgaon is pointing towards the immense public support for the BJP rule.”

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the legislative assembly elections in all the five states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana. Polling in Chhattisgarh will be finished in two phases, i.e., on November 7, 2023 and November 17, 2023, while all other states will observe polling on all seats in a single day. Counting of votes and declaration of results will take place on December 3 for all five states.
