CBI pulls ex-Maha minister Anil Deshmukh into its custody for corruption probe

CBI took the custody of the ex-Maharashtra home minister into custody from Arthur road jail in connection with a corruption case that has involved ex-top cop of Mumbai Police, Sachin Vaze.

In a controversy that rocked Maha Vikas Aghadi government, the corruption case by ex-top cop of Mumbai Police, Sachin Vaze, which further connected with the then home minister of the state, Anil Deshmukh, has taken a new route. The former minister is being taken into CBI custody and will be further pulled up at CBI court from the Arthur Road jail. Deshmukh had challenged the central agency’s application seeking his custody, but the bench headed by Justice Revati Mohite Dere couldn’t hear Deshmukh’s plea.

The former minister had also challenged the CBI’s application through a special PMLA court order. The lawyers of the former minister are expected to hear the plea before a bench of justice headed by P D Naik.
