Congress won the Telangana assembly elections 2023 on Sunday after ousting the governing BRS party, which had been in power since the state’s formation, which is 10 years.

The party has announced that Revanth Reddy, who won the Kodangal constituency for Congress, will be the new Telangana Chief Minister.

The firebrand leader was widely credited for being responsible of delivering the state for Congress.

During a press briefing on Tuesday evening, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal declared that Reddy will be the new Congress Legislature Party chief in Telangana.

“He is experienced, works with all and has already given promise to the people of Telangana with guarantees,” Venugopal said.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place on Thursday, December 7.

It is expected that senior Congress leaders Uttam Kumar Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka might be given a Deputy Chief Minister post or would be assigned to some portfolio. As per the sources, the state will not have a rotational Chief Minister formula.
