On Wednesday, Jairam Ramesh (General Secretary in-charge Communications, Indian National Congress) addressed a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He started by congratulating people of Chhattisgarh on ‘Chhattisgarh foundation day’, which is marked every year on November 1.

Addressing various issues in the conference, Jairam Ramesh made a series of attacks over Bharatiya Janata Party, which is looking to make a come-back in the state in the upcoming assembly elections. He said that BJP’s strategy is based only on polarization.
“The manifesto of the Congress Party focuses on local issues. But BJP’s strategy is based only on polarization. From the Prime Minister to the Chief Ministers of many states came to Chhattisgarh, but in their election speeches only the issue of polarization was discussed. Apart from this, BJP does not have any issue,” said Jairam Ramesh.
Jairam Ramesh also attacked PM Narendra Modi Nagarnar Steel Plant issue. “PM Modi will come here, criticize the Congress party, but will not tell the truth even by mistake. He came to Chhattisgarh and talked a lot about Nagarnar Steel Plant. But the truth is that since October 2020, the Modi government is busy selling the Nagarnar steel factory,” he said.
Jairam Ramesh also addressed the guarantees been promised by the Congress party for the upcoming elections. “We have given 17 guarantees to Chhattisgarh and one guarantee has come into effect from today itself. In which procurement of 20 quintals of paddy per acre has started. We have given these guarantees to women, youth, tribals and deprived sections,” said Ramesh.
The election in poll bound Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases i.e. on 7th and 17th of November, followed by counting of votes and declaration of results.
