BJP MP Roopa Ganguly also publicized as Mahabharat fame “Draupadi”, roared out a scathing descent in today’s Rajya Sabha session when the house witnessed her plea for President’s rule in West Bengal.

The Political Arson

On the night of March 21, there was violence and arson in the Baktui village of Birbhum district of West Bengal. Deputy President Bhadu Sheikh was associated with the ruling party Trinamool Congress. However, after his assassination, some disturbing elements set fire to about a dozen houses in Baktui village. Conclusively, this act of violence has led a death toll of 8, including 6 women and 2 children.

Yet, this has not been the first act of violence deemed as an accident or attempt to mass killing in West Bengal. And since the state has been vulnerable to such multiple incidents, many of which remain unheard and unreported.

However, when thrown with opportunity the BJP MP Roopa Ganguly did not hesitate to bring the recent violence into picture. Which was acknowledged by the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Plea for President’s Rule

She began saying, “It is time to talk about things that shame us all. I do not know where to begin with. If I begin to count the number of deceased, its just 8. 2 children and 6 people who were blazed to death by fire and are admitted in the hospital which does not have a burn unit.”

Moreover, she then moved to state, “They are not many sir and less dying does not make a difference. But the point is they are burnt to death. The point is the police is not trusted and within 7 days there are 26 murders. 26 political murders that too which are related to this incident. All burned alive and silenced. The autopsy states they were beaten and tied in a closed room to die in the fire”.

The BJP MP could not hold back tears and roared to the fierce opposition she met in the house that constantly aimed to interrupt her motion.

Thus, BJP MP Roopa Ganguly bought the reality of the people of West Bengal and the mass killings that had been bought to her notice. She profoundly exclaimed, “West Bengal is a part of India. We want President Rule. We have the right to live and it cannot be a crime to be born in West Bengal. Being born in the land of Dakshinesh and Mahakali cannot be a crime.”

Lastly, completing her remarks with the intensity she set in the house, she ended her descent. And plea for President’s rule to be bought in motion for the state of West Bengal.
