BJP leaders hits out at Rahul Gandhi’s ‘dynasty politics’ charge

The controversy soon ignited and Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma took the responsibility to answer Rahul Gandhi mocking him as an ‘illiterate’

Ahead of the assembly elections 2023, political leaders of the Bhartiya Janata Party and Congress turn to put down each other through tongue-lashing. The dispute grew over the remark made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over Amit Shah’s son. On being questioned about dynasty politics, Rahul Gandhi attacks on central-led BJP government by saying: “What does Amit Shah’s son do? What is he doing exactly? What does Rajnath Singh’s son do? Last I heard, Amit Shah’s son is running Indian cricket. So please be objective. Look at the leaders of the BJP and ask yourselves what their children are doing. And you will find that many of their children — Anurag Thakur — are dynasties.”

The controversy soon ignited and Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma took the responsibility to answer Rahul Gandhi mocking him as an ‘illiterate’ he said: “First of all, when it is dynastic politics, he (Rahul Gandhi) must know the meaning of that. Amit Shah’s son is not in the BJP, but his (Rahul Gandhi) entire family is in the Congress. So today, he slams everything but he does not know that he is the core reason for everything. So if a family — mother, father, grandfather, sister everybody is in politics and controlling the party. where will he see a parallel to it? He thought BCCI was a BJP wing. Poor, illiterate fellow…” the Assam CM added.

Even BJP’s IT Cell head lashed out at Rahul Gandhi using Shashi Tharoor’s remark. In a post on X, he said: “What did Shashi Tharoor mean when he said Congress is a family run party? Let us figure this out… After the assassination of Indira Gandhi, her son, Rajiv Gandhi, who had no experience of being in politics, was pulled out from a cockpit and made the Prime Minister, ahead of several other senior leaders. After him, his widow, Sonia Gandhi, an Italian, was made the Congress President. She remained at the helm, unchallenged, for almost two decades. It was when she decided to step down, her delinquent son, Rahul Gandhi, took charge as President. When he failed, Sonia Gandhi stepped in again, till such time an ineffectual regent was planted as the President.”

“Rahul Gandhi still has the temerity to call the BJP dynastic. This sense of entitlement is what Indians have smashed twice. 2024 will be the third time,” Malviya further added.
