Ahead of Assembly elections to be held in five states next month i.e., – Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana. BJP and Congress are gearing up for this election and are also addressing election rallies with great enthusiasm. In this series, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh today and addressed an election rally at Lal Bagh Maidan. Here, he mainly focused on tribal issues and slammed BJP.

While addressing the public at Lal Bagh Maidan, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the BJP insults tribals. Rahul Gandhi said, “Tribal is a revolutionary word. Tribal means the first and real owners of this country, that is, the owners of the water, forests and land of this country. BJP people call tribals as ‘Vanvasi’, i.e. people who live in the forest. The word Vanvasi is an insult to the tribals, which the Congress party can never accept.”

“Congress brought Tribal Bill, PESA law and ‘Land Acquisition Act’ for the tribals. It was clearly written in it that unless the Gram Sabha of the tribal village gives permission, no one can take the land of the tribals. We had made this promise and fulfilled this promise,” added Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his all-time favourite ‘Adani issue’.

“Narendra Modi ji’s friend Adani had a mining project in Chhattisgarh, but our tribal brothers and sisters said – we do not want this project here. Congress respected your voice and showed it by cancelling Adani’s project. The water, forests and land of Chhattisgarh are yours, and you should get your rights,” said Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi also alleged that BJP doesn’t fulfil the promises they make. While attacking BJP, the Congress MP said: PM Modi had said — Will give Rs 15 lakh to everyone, black money will be eradicated by demonetization, GST will change India, but nothing like that happened.”

“The Congress government has fulfilled all the promises it made,” claimed Rahul Gandhi.

The elections in poll-bound Chhattisgarh will be held on November 7 and November 17, followed by counting on December 3.
