BJP leads in 87 seats across key Bihar regions
Strong gains in Patna and urban belts
The BJP’s early lead in the Bihar assembly election results 2025 is backed by strong performance in urban and semi-urban segments. In the Patna region, Sanjiv Chaurasia is comfortably ahead in Digha (181), while Nitin Nabin holds a big lead in Bankipur (182). Sanjay Kumar is leading in Kumhrar (183) and Ratnesh Kumar is ahead in the high-profile Patna Sahib (184) seat.
The party is also on top in several other key constituencies including Purnia (62), Rosera (139), Teghra (143), Bihpur (152), Tarapur (164), Munger (165), Lakhisarai (168), Biharsharif (172), Gaya Town (230), Wazirganj (234), Jamui (241) and others, indicating a wide spread of support across north and south Bihar.
JD(U) ahead in 75 constituencies, holds core Nitish belt
Big margins for Maheshwar Hazari and Anant Singh
The JD(U), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is showing a strong performance with leads in 75 seats. In Kalyanpur (131), Maheshwar Hazari has polled over 55,000 votes and enjoys a margin of more than 17,000 votes. In Mokama (178), Anant Kumar Singh is also ahead by over 15,000 votes.
JD(U) candidates are leading in several other constituencies including Runni Saidpur (29), Araria (49), Dhamdaha (61), Gaighat (88), Minapur (90), Sakra (92), Kanti (95), KuchaiKote (102), Bhorey (103), Vaishali (125), Mahnar (129), Samastipur (133), Masaurhi (189), Nalanda (176), Harnaut (177) and several seats in south and central Bihar.
Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD leads in 35 seats
Comfortable margins in Paroo, Maner and Matihani
Despite the NDA surge, Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD is ahead in 35 constituencies. In Paroo (97), Shankar Prasad has built a strong lead of over 15,000 votes. In Maner (187), Bhai Birendra is ahead by nearly 16,500 votes, while in Matihani (144), Narendra Kumar Singh alias Bogo Singh leads by more than 14,000 votes.
Close contest for Tejashwi Yadav in Raghopur
One of the most watched contests in the Bihar election results 2025 is in Raghopur (128). Here, BJP candidate Satish Kumar has secured 20,158 votes and is leading Tejashwi Prasad Yadav by a narrow margin of around 106 votes after 5 out of 30 rounds of counting. The seat has been a prestige battle for the RJD leader and remains a key indicator of the opposition’s standing.
LJP (Ram Vilas) leads in 20 seats, Congress in 6
LJP (RV) strong in Sugauli, Bodh Gaya and other pockets
The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is emerging as an important force in these Bihar assembly elections, leading in 20 constituencies. Rajesh Kumar alias Bablu Gupta is far ahead in Sugauli (11), while Shyamdeo Paswan has notched up a very large vote tally in Bodh Gaya (229). The party is also leading in Govindganj (14), Nathnagar (158), Simri Bakhtiarpur (76), Fatuha (185), Rajauli (235), Gobindpur (238) and other seats.
Congress ahead in six constituencies
The Indian National Congress currently leads in six seats in the ongoing Bihar election results 2025. In Valmiki Nagar (1), Surendra Prasad is ahead by over 1,400 votes, while in Kishanganj (54), Md. Qamrul Hoda leads by more than 2,000 votes. The party is also in front in Manihari (67), Begusarai (146), Bikram (191) and Chenari (207), although margins in some of these seats remain relatively tight.
