Bihar election trends on Thursday showed a major setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Danapur, where Ram Kripal Yadav is trailing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Rit Lal Roy by a significant margin.
According to the latest Election Commission of India (ECI) update at 11:00 am, Rit Lal Roy is leading from Danapur Assembly constituency (Const. 186) with a margin of 12,563 votes over Ram Kripal Yadav after 9 rounds of counting out of 30. The result is still in progress, but the early numbers indicate strong support for the RJD in this key seat on the outskirts of Patna.
The Danapur contest is being closely watched as part of the larger battle between the JD(U)–BJP alliance and the RJD-led bloc across Bihar. While the NDA is ahead in a majority of constituencies as of now, the Danapur trend stands out as one of the high-profile setbacks for the BJP camp.
ECI has reiterated that these are provisional figures being fed from counting centres, and the final outcome will be declared only after completion of all rounds and formal compilation of results in Form-20.
