RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has now commented on the secularism of India. He said, “India has been a secular nation for 5,000 years”. He called upon people to remain united and present the best example of human behaviour to the world.

Addressing an event organised to release the book ‘Prithvi Sukta – An Ode to Mother Earth’ written by senior RSS functionary R Hari, Bhagwat appealed to the people to have devotion, love and dedication towards their motherland and said, ‘we consider the motherland to be an essential component of our national unity.’

The RSS chief said, ‘Our 5,000-year-old culture is secular. In all ‘Tatva Gyan’, this is the conclusion. The whole world is one family, this is our feeling. This is not a theory to know it, feel it and then behave accordingly.

‘There is a lot of diversity in the country. Don’t fight with each other. Make your country capable of teaching the world that we are one.’ This is the only sole purpose of India’s existence, he said

Mohan Bhagwat said that the sages created ‘Bharat’ for the welfare of the world. He created a society which spread its knowledge to the last person of the country. He said, ‘He was not just a ‘sanyasi’. They lived a wandering life with their families. All these ‘ghumantu’ (nomads) are still there, who were declared criminal tribes by the British. They are often seen displaying their culture in the society, some share Ayurvedic knowledge. Our people took knowledge around the world, from Mexico to Siberia, he added.

Bhagwat also commented on Success of G20 he said it is no surprise that India transformed the G20, which is primarily a forum to deliberate on economic issues, into a forum that thinks about humanity. He also congratulated the government for the successful conduction of the G20 Summit.

Bhagwat recalled foemer President Lt. Pranab Mukherjee 

RSS Chief recalled the late former president of India Pranab Mukherjee and shared a tale related with him. He said that Mukherjee had asked a question that how India taught Unity in Diversity to the world when their own constitution is Secular in nature, in their first meeting.

Bhagwat also said that during 2018 when he planned to meet Mukherjee during that time ‘Ghar wapsi’ point was raised, and he believed that the president will ask regarding this topic. He mentioned that our constitution is secular and also the makers of the constitution are secular too.

Mukherjee, who was President of India from 2012 to 2017, had drawn criticism for addressing RSS cadre at an event in Nagpur on June 7, 2018. He died in 2020.

Unity is the biggest idea of India : Arif Khan 

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan also participated in this program. While addressing the program, he said that unity is the biggest idea of India.
