Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela on Friday through video conferencing, as the Centre continues its large-scale recruitment drive across government departments and ministries.
According to official information, the Rozgar Mela will be organised simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, connecting newly selected candidates from different states and regions with various central government departments and organisations.
The Prime Minister will also address the newly recruited youth during the event and is expected to highlight the government’s focus on employment generation, youth empowerment and strengthening public sector recruitment processes.
The candidates selected through the recruitment process will join several ministries and departments of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Department of Higher Education, among others.
Officials said the appointees have been recruited for multiple roles across administrative, technical, financial, healthcare, education and operational sectors.
The Rozgar Mela initiative was launched by the central government as part of its broader employment generation campaign aimed at accelerating recruitment into government departments and reducing vacancies across public institutions. Since the launch of the programme, lakhs of appointment letters have been distributed through multiple editions held in different parts of the country.
Government representatives said the recruitment process has been carried out through transparent and technology-driven mechanisms involving various recruitment agencies and departments.
The programme is also intended to streamline induction processes and provide newly recruited candidates with faster deployment into government services.
The 19th Rozgar Mela comes amid continued focus on employment opportunities, skill development and youth participation in public sector services. The Centre has repeatedly stated that strengthening human resources in ministries and improving public service delivery remain key priorities.
Previous editions of the Rozgar Mela witnessed appointment distributions across sectors including railways, banking, postal services, healthcare, education, paramilitary forces and taxation departments.
Officials said the event would be coordinated across multiple cities with digital connectivity arrangements enabling the Prime Minister to interact virtually with candidates from different regions of the country.
