Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Vientiane, Laos, starting today. During the visit, PM Modi will participate in the 21st ASEAN-India Summit and the 19th East Asia Summit, marking significant diplomatic engagements in the region.
According to Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, this will be the Prime Minister’s tenth time attending the ASEAN-India Summit. The visit is being made at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Laos, Sonexay Siphandone.
During the ASEAN-India Summit, PM Modi will join other ASEAN leaders to review the progress of India-ASEAN relations and discuss future directions for strengthening the partnership. The discussions will cover a wide range of issues, including trade, security, and regional cooperation.
