Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address on the inauguration day of The Energy and Resources Institute’s (TERI) World Sustainable Development Summit on Wednesday. The upcoming edition will be held as a hybrid event scheduled from 16- 18 February 2022 in New Delhi. World Sustainable Development Summit is TERI’s annual flagship event. The prime minister will deliver his address through a video message around 6 pm, the PMO stated.

The summit will discuss a wide range of concerning matters, like climate change, sustainable production, energy transitions, global commons and resource security.
The World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) is the annual event of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). The WSDS 2022 will be held under the umbrella theme of “Towards a Resilient Planet: Ensuring a Sustainable and Equitable Future.”
The three-day summit commencing on 16th February will be attended by Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic, Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Amina J Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General, United Nations, heads of various intergovernmental organisations, Ministers and envoys from more than a dozen countries and representatives from over 120 countries.
“It is our conscious effort at creating a platform where stakeholders from across the world sit together to deliberate on solutions that are based on sustainability and green growth. TERI is a pioneer in these areas and WSDS 2022 will play a crucial part in accentuating our role in providing technological, policy as well as knowledge solutions as India works towards realising the commitments made at COP26,” Director General, TERI, Dr Vibha Dhawan conveyed.
Apart from Modi’s inaugural address, the other notable addresses will be delivered by President of the Republic of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali and Deputy Secretary-General, United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed. India’s Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav will make the opening address.
The Energy and Resources Institute is a research institute in New Delhi that specializes in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development and was established in 1974.
