Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Saturday that the current decade of the twenty-first century is a golden time that should be fully utilized and that no region of the nation should fall behind in achieving rapid progress. During his visit to the state, Modi lay the cornerstone for a number of infrastructure development projects worth around Rs 6,100 crore despite the governing BRS’s boycott in Telangana, which is awaiting its election.
Modi stated in his speech to the crowd at the event that investors from all over the world were showing up to invest in India. “India today is young and bursting with energy.” He emphasized that no region of the nation should see slower growth than others. He said that Telangana was developing into a hub connecting all nearby economic corridors and claimed that this was advantageous for the state’s businesses and tourism.
Even though Telangana is a young state that has only been in existence for nine years, he claimed that Telangana and its residents have made a significant contribution to India’s history. According to him, Telugu people’s talents have always improved India’s capacities.
The Prime Minister emphasized the crucial contribution made by the people of Telangana in making India the fifth-largest economy in the world and expressed optimism about the expansion of opportunities as the rest of the world turns its attention to India as a potential location for investment. As he made clear that India’s outdated infrastructure prevents rapid growth, he emphasized the necessity to discover innovative means to accomplish future goals.
He noted the multifold rise in the speed and magnitude of development by the Union government, pointing out that inadequate connection and high logistic expenses impede the expansion of companies. He cited instances of motorways, expressways, economic corridors, and industrial corridors that are building a network and said that two-lane and four-lane roadways are being upgraded to four and six lanes, respectively. According to the PM, Telangana’s highway network has increased from 2,500 km to 5,000 km, a twofold increase.
The building of a further 2,500 km of national highways, he added, is at various phases of planning. He further mentioned that Telangana is traversed by several corridors that are being built as part of the Bharatmala Project, citing as examples the corridors connecting Hyderabad and Indore, Chennai and Surat, Hyderabad and Panaji, and Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
The PM went on to say that in a sense Telangana is also linking the nearby economic hubs and becoming into a center of economic activity. Since it is now easier to visit Telangana’s heritage sites and places of worship, Modi emphasized how the state’s economy and tourism are directly benefited by the state’s improved connectivity.
Additionally, he noted the granite business in Karimnagar and its connection to agriculture, saying that both sectors are directly benefited by government initiatives. He emphasized the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) plan to support manufacturing in the nation when discussing the “Make in India” campaign and how the manufacturing sector is turning into a significant source of employment for the young in the nation.
He also discussed India’s record-breaking year for defense exports. He stated that now, India’s defense exports have surpassed Rs 16,000 crore, up from about Rs 1,000 crore nine years ago. The PM also mentioned the current industrial milestones and records established by Indian Railways.
He emphasized the excitement surrounding the “Made in India” Vande Bharat trains and said that Indian Railways had produced countless numbers of cutting-edge coaches and locomotives over the years.
He referred to the Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet, whose foundation stone was laid today, and said that it represents a revitalization of Indian Railways and that Kazipet would be a part of the new ‘Make in India’ energy. According to him, this would lead to the creation of new employment prospects in the region, which will help every household.
As he exhorted the public to move Telangana ahead on this theme of progress, Modi declared that this is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Taking along everyone for the benefit of all).
At the event were Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Tourism Minister and recently named President of BJP in Telangana G Kishan Reddy, BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and other leaders. Gadkari stated in his speech that Modi has given the nation’s infrastructure development the utmost priority.
He said that Telangana has so far finished, has ongoing infrastructure projects, or is about to begin projects totaling Rs. 1.10 lakh crore. The Union Minister predicted that Telangana would have projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore in the state by the end of 2024.
A manufacturing facility for railroad wagons that will be built at a cost of more than Rs 500 crore is among the projects for which the foundation stone was placed. Modi has previously prayed at the revered Goddess Bhadrakali temple in the ancient city of Warangal, which had formerly served as the capital of the Kakatiya dynasty.
The state’s governing BRS has stated it will “boycott” PM Modi’s visit, alleging that the NDA administration at the Center had been “anti-Telangana” for the past nine years.
