Earlier today, at the MEA briefing:
-
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri categorically denied Pakistan’s claims of damaging Indian military installations, calling them “false, misleading, and propaganda-heavy”. He said: “It is Pakistani actions that have constituted provocations and escalations. In response, India has acted responsibly and proportionately.”
-
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi revealed that India launched precision strikes on eight Pakistani military targets, including Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Chunian, Pasrur (radar site), and Sialkot (aviation base) using air-launched weapons. She emphasised minimal collateral damage and restraint despite provocations.
-
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh stated that Pakistan had mobilised forces towards forward areas, indicating escalatory intent, and confirmed that India’s military infrastructure remains fully intact. She also accused Pakistan of using civilian airliners as shields during its failed attacks.
The high-level review by the Prime Minister comes as part of India’s calibrated but firm response strategy, following Pakistan’s failed drone and missile attacks at over 26 Indian locations, which were successfully neutralised by Indian air defence systems.
India continues to reiterate its commitment to non-escalation, while ensuring national security and territorial integrity remain uncompromised.
