PM Modi celebrates Ravidas Jayanti in Delhi; participates in ‘Shabad Kirtan’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi with full fervour joins the ‘Shabad Kirtan’ at Shri Guru Ravidas Vishram Dham Mandir in Delhi.

Narendra Modi Today gave his respects and prayers at Shri Guru Ravidas Vishram Dham Mandir (Delhi) in Karol Bagh. He is celebrating Ravidas Jayanti with the devotees and also took part in the ‘Shabad Kirtan’.

Ravidas Jayanti is the commemoration of Guru Ravidas, who was a poet, social reformer and spiritual figure and is celebrated on the full moon day of the Magh month. It’s the annual point of convergence for the Ravidassia religion.

Lt Governor Anil Baijal announced a holiday to all Government offices on the pious occasion of Ravidas Jayanti. In the official release, he also mentioned that the earlier restricted holiday for Ravidas Jayanti announced on 14th February is cancelled.

Although the exact DOB is unknown Guru Ravidas is believed to have been born in 1377 CE in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
