During an all-party meeting held on Wednesday, the Centre briefed opposition parties on the precision strike. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that political parties spoke “in one voice,” reinforcing national unity amid escalating cross-border tensions.
Among the high-profile targets of the strike was the Bahawalpur-based headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). The Indian missile strike reportedly killed 10 members of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar’s family and four of his key aides.
In retaliation, Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling along the LoC, leading to the deaths of 12 civilians and injuries to over 50 others in Jammu & Kashmir’s Poonch district.
The Ministry of Defence reiterated that the Indian Armed Forces specifically avoided targeting Pakistani military assets, reinforcing that Operation Sindoor was focused solely on dismantling terror infrastructure used for cross-border attacks.
