As part of the ongoing precision campaign dubbed Operation Sindoor, Indian intelligence-backed strikes have successfully neutralised nine key terror facilities across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operations targeted top training and launching pads of groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM).
According to sources, the following sites were confirmed as successfully hit:
1. Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur – Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)
This 15-acre complex is JeM’s main operational headquarters. Located on the outskirts of Bahawalpur, Punjab, the camp is infamous for training the perpetrators of the 2019 Pulwama attack. The premises also house the residence of JeM Chief Maulana Masood Azhar and other key leaders.
2. Markaz Taiba, Muridke – Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)
Established in 2000, this is LeT’s most significant training centre. Spread over 82 acres in Sheikhupura, Punjab, the facility includes arms training grounds, a madrassa, a sports complex, and residential quarters. This was also where Ajmal Kasab received training before the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
3. Sarjal, Tehra Kalan – Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)
Located in Shakargarh, Narowal district, Punjab, this launch site was camouflaged within a government health facility. Used for infiltrating JeM cadres into Jammu & Kashmir, the site also played a role in planning drone-based and tunnel infiltration.
4. Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot – Hizbul Mujahideen (HM)
Situated near Kotli Bhutta Government Hospital in Head Marala, Sialkot, this HM facility was embedded within public buildings to avoid detection. It has been used for radicalisation and cross-border launch operations, facilitated by Pakistan’s ISI.
5. Markaz Ahle Hadith, Barnala – Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)
Based in Bhimber district of PoJK, this LeT hub sits strategically near Barnala town. It has been actively used for pushing terrorists and arms into India’s Rajouri-Poonch sector, with its proximity to the LoC aiding infiltration.
6. Markaz Abbas, Kotli – Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)
Located just 2 km southeast of the Kotli military camp in PoJK, this Markaz functions as a religious and operational base for JeM activities. It has reportedly been used to coordinate training and logistics.
7. Maskar Raheel Shahid, Kotli – Hizbul Mujahideen (HM)
One of the oldest HM facilities in PoJK, this base is secluded and accessible only by a rough track. It includes barracks, arms storage rooms, and residential quarters for terrorists. It lies approximately 2.5 km from Mahuli Puli.
8. Shawai Nalla Camp, Muzaffarabad – Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)
Functional since the early 2000s, this is a core LeT camp used for recruitment, registration, and training. Intelligence agencies have tracked this site as a long-standing hub for LeT mobilisation.
9. Syedna Bilal Camp, Muzaffarabad – Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)
Details on this facility are still being verified.
