Now that the COVID-19 cases have shown a downward trajectory the Ministry of Health has given a directive to stop the caller tune on precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Citizens were annoyed by the continuous caller tune bombarded by the telecommunications companies across India, sometimes in the voice of actor Amitabh Bachan and sometimes in regional languages. This went on for 2 years now since the pandemic outbreak.
Major operators like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Jio and Idea had changed their caller tunes as per the directive given by the Indian government.
Funnily, the COVID-19 caller tune started with the enactment of sneezing and coughing of people, then immediate advice follows against the notorious coronavirus.
Several precautionary measures and advice were being doled out which really annoyed callers across the country.
This news gave way to the netizens to create memes on Twitter and other social media platforms.
