
On Tuesday, March 23, while addressing the Confluence of Religious leaders in Kashmir, J&K Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha said, “No development and progress is possible without sustained peace, communal harmony and brotherhood”.

He also highlighted role of family, religious leaders and community influencers to counter radicalization process to neutralize any attempt being made from cross border to incite communal hatred in the society.
The Conference was organised at S K International Convention Centre on the bank of famous Dal lake. Sinha urged community and religious leaders to spread the message of peace and harmony among the youth. 550 religious leaders including Moulvis & Muftis and 200 women and 200 youth from Jammu and Kashmir attended the conference.
Sinha further said, “Radicalisation should not be associated with a specific religion. There is a need for Islamic scholars to formulate a policy and a process by which a helpless person, who is exposed to a violent ideology, is prevented from getting radicalized,” as quoted by ANI.
Addressing the Conference, Sinha said, “The level of radicalisation is comparatively much lesser in Jammu Kashmir, it is very important to focus on counter-radicalisation for ensuring social harmony and national security.”

Lt. Governor has also appreciated the efforts of discussing with religious leaders and women to make violence free society and to promote peace and harmony.
