
The Election Commission released the timetable for Nagaland’s assembly elections on Wednesday. On February 27, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) will go to the polls in the northeastern state.
Nagaland’s assembly elections will be contested in a single round. The polls will open on February 27 and the ballots will be counted on March 2.

Nagaland’s Legislative Assembly has 60 seats. The NDPP, the BJP, and the Naga People’s Front comprise the ruling coalition, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) (NPF).
In Nagaland, the NDPP-BJP coalition, forged before of the 2018 elections, is holding firm. In Nagaland, there is no opposition. The NPF lost 21 MLAs to the UDA. The NPF received 26 seats in 2018, the NDPP 18, the BJP 12, the NPP 2, the JDU 1, and one Independent.
According to BJP state in-charge Nalin Kohli, the BJP intends to keep its alliance with the NDPP and may go with the 40:20 seat distribution module.
