A massive fire broke out near the emergency ward of AIIMS Delhi today i.e 7th August at around 11.54 am, pertaining to which six fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the prime location.

It has been recently revealed that the fire had first started in the Old OPD building’s endoscopy room, which is located on the second floor, just above the emergency ward. Given the danger, all the patients in the room have been evacuated according to AIIMS sources. “The fire is under control. The Director has also reached the spot to take stock of the situation,” AIIMS said. The public medical research university and hospital is located at Sri Aurobindo Marg in Delhi’s Ansari Nagar East, and is among India’s best medical institutes. The visuals that are being shared online show thick plumes of smoke coming out from the second floor of the building at AIIMS, Delhi.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
