Maharashtra Government allots Rs 105.78 crore for medical college in Ratnagiri

Maharashtra Rural Development minister Girish Mahajan announced on Saturday that the state government has sanctioned Rs 105.78 crore for setting up a medical college in coastal district of Ratnagiri.

Kolhapur / Ratnagiri, Jun 17 : Maharashtra Rural Development minister Girish Mahajan announced on Saturday that the state government has sanctioned Rs 105.78 crore for setting up a medical college in coastal district of Ratnagiri.

Addressing a news conference in Ratnagiri this afternoon, he further said that the government had last year given a double bonanza to people of Konkan with sanction of two government medical college-cum-hospitals of 430 and 500-bed in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts, respectively.

The medical college at Ratnagiri would lead to creation 448 posts, he informed.

Mahajan further said that the government had already started 10 medical colleges from 2014 to create new doctors for extension of health services all over the state.
The government would soon approve a proposal to start new medical colleges in nine more districts, he added.
