Maharashtra cabinet expansion likely on 5th August

This comes more than a month after the 40 rebel MLAs of Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde defected to the BJP which led to the collapse of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

The new Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis-led administration may have a cabinet expansion on the 5th of August.

If reports are believed, the new Shinde-led administration will have 15 ministers taking oath as cabinet ministers, including 8 MLAs from the BJP and 7 MLAs from Shinde’s faction of the Shiv Sena.

This expansion may take place in 2 or 3 rounds.

Sources in Delhi state that new faces in the BJP will get a chance to be ministers in the cabinet.

Bacchu Kadu, an independent candidate could be made a minister.

Shinde and Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively 35 days back. They have been the only two members of the government and the cabinet.
