The BJP released an updated list of 15 candidates for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. After releasing a list of 44 candidates, the party quickly withdrew the document.
The first list includes 15 candidates who have been nominated to run in the first phase of the polls, which will include 24 constituencies. Only one woman has been fielded among the 15 candidates. Shagun Parihar from the Kishtwar constituency.

The BJP’s Central Election Committee met on Sunday evening to decide the party’s candidates for the polls. The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will hold elections in three parts on September 18, 25, and October 1.
The Union Territory has 90 assembly seats, with 74 reserved for the general category, nine for Scheduled Tribes and seven for Scheduled Castes.
