
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its first list of candidates for the forthcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
Three phases of elections for Jammu and Kashmir’s legislative assembly are scheduled for September 18, 25 and October 1. Vote counting will be held on October 4.

After the BJP’s Central Election Committee finalised the party’s poll choices for the forthcoming election, the list was released this morning. PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP leader JP Nadda attended the important meeting in Delhi yesterday.
Jammu and Kashmir has 90 assembly constituencies, with 74 reserved for general, nine for Scheduled Tribes and seven for Scheduled Castes. According to the Election Commission, the Union Territory has 87.09 lakh eligible electorates, with males and females represented equally.
